Sketching Horses With Ink

Why the long face?

Really this was just an excuse to play with a newly bought calligraphy pen. I looked very briefly at some horse proportions, did a google search for some reference and then went for it. I won’t pretend to know how to draw the anatomy of a horse; but I had fun trying. You have to start somewhere, right?

Also, I watched Warhorse today. It’s too sad for someone who grew up with horses. But it reminded me that I still want to get good at drawing them at some point.
